PROSPECT EVALUATION
Many companies recognize the need to quantify the coal bed methane
and gas shale resources on their proprietary land base. Timely assessment
by CBM Solutions’ team of geologists and engineers can analyze your
land base, rank prospects and design / implement an exploration
and development strategy. Our staff have experience in evaluating
and developing CBM/CMM prospects around the world. We have experience
and are currently working throughout Canada and North America.
FIELD DESORPTION STUDIES
Our laboratories are self contained units meeting all international standards to work onsite. Each mobile lab is equipped with core description and sampling facilities, water baths for desorption at reservoir or fluid temperatures, and canister desorption racks capable of holding 200 canisters of size 13”, 24” and 6”and our uniquely designed side wall core canisters. We perform well site duties while on site. We utilize PowerLog for integrating core descriptions, cuttings descriptions and wireline logs or our proprietary software for desorption analyses and gas in place calculations.

RAPID DESORB PROGRAM (RDS)
Our RDS program provides total gas content and composition data within one week of drilling the well. Within three weeks, a final report with isotherms, coal petrology, gas-in-place calculations and resource evaluation can be provided by CBM Solutions - a job that typically takes about 5 months.
RIG FOLLOWING SERVICES (RFS)
Our proprietary RFS program is designed to evaluate CBM and gas shale prospects at minimal additional cost during exploration for deeper targets. Thousands of conventional exploration and development wells penetrate these important resources every year and no information is collected. Evaluation of the CBM resources can be carried out, piggy backed on conventional exploration and development wells, at little added cost but exceptional added value. CBM Solutions has a proven record in assessing CBM prospects using the RFS program.
IN-SITU PERMEABILITY
Our injectivity testing apparatus is designed to work slim holes and full diameter holes to determine in-stiu permeability. Coal exploration holes can thus be utilised for a full evaluation of coalbed methane producability.

LABORATORY ANALYSES
CBM Solutions offers a wide variety of services in support of CBM and gas shale exploration and development. We design and carry out analytical protocol to suit project goals. Services include high pressure isotherms for all gases, Langmuir modelling, extended Langmuir modeling, coal / hydrocarbon petrology, reflectance and proximate and typical coal analyses. For gas shale analyses we utilize TOC, maturity and porosity analyses.
WELL SERVICES
CBM Solutions offers comprehensive well design and administration expertise that range from well operation and maintenance to environmental controls. Well stimulation design and management are also undertaken.
CAPACITY BUILDING AND TRAINING
Our in house and field professionals possess expertise that spans the whole spectrum of CBM activities. Our customized short courses and workshops for the CBM industry is driven by strong theoretical knowledge and field experience. The training exercises are given by professional geologists,engineers and researchers who possess extensive CBM industry exposure. We bring together industry leaders to provide comprehensive coverage of engineering, management and environmental issues related to CBM industry.
